"A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer." Bruce Lee
I was born in São Paulo, Brazil where worked for over 10 years in the Events & Communication industry, even though was always involved in the holistic industry: studying, attending events and as a client. During my first 3 years in United States, I was wondering what I wanted to do and where should I take my life.. I worked in between freelance jobs in the Communication area and Hospitality industry, and in 2004 I realized my path when did my first Yoga Teacher Training - 200hs in 30 days, getting certified in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga from Professor Reed Taylor / It's Yoga.
"After an intense month practicing the "art of union" for more than 10 hours a day (between theory and practice), I realized that this was the " medicine " I needed to be healthy and help others around me ... "
My journey was just starting.. After that I got certified from great masters as Bobbi Goldin (Iyengar Yoga), Duncan Wong (Yogic Arts), Shakta Khalsa (Radiant Child Yoga), and Michael Buck "Mukti" (Thai Yoga Bodywork), participated in workshops and conferences with experienced teachers such as Dharma Mittra, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, and Mark Whitwell, whom I consider great inspirations; and realized what I wanted to be and do for a living.
"As my Yoga practice deepened, I began to confirm what some of my teachers used to say: that I could heal all kinds of injuries, starting from the root of all: our mental rigidity. Yoga has made me see different things, control my anxiety, lose fear, decrease stress, and also heal physical injuries."
After six years teaching, I became one of the owners of Synergy Yoga Center, which was the first yoga studio in Miami Beach and experienced the business and interaction in the Yoga industry in another level and perspective. "It was a great challenge and responsibility, and I learned a lot. The experience was great, but the Universe changed the route and I decided to continue my Yoga journey in a different way .."
From 2012 to 2014 I lived in California, where learned and improved as a Yoga instructor among athletes and a different environment. I am currently back in Miami teaching professional athletes, private lessons, small groups, and finishing my studies in Ayurveda at the Mahima Institute, to be soon certified as an Ayurveda Wellness Coach.
My classes have a strong influence from healing experiences I've had while living and venturing in Brazil: Aromatherapy, Chromotherapy, and Sound Therapy, to name a few. I am a Certified Master in Magnified Healing and Reiki Level II.
"AFTER OVER 15 YEARS TEACHING AND HEALING, I CAN SAY THAT I AM AN ETERNAL STUDENT LIVING THE YOGA LIFESTYLE. AS AN ANIMAL ACTIVIST AND AN UNCONDITIONAL LOVER OF NATURE, MY CONNECTION WITH GAIA IS WHAT GIVES ME THE HABILITY & SENSIBILITY TO CONNECT WITH MY STUDENTS AND ENGAGE THEM IN A CONSCIOUS PATH WITH THEMSELVES & THE ENVIRONMENT. I AM DEEPLY THANKFUL FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE MY KNOWLEDGE WITH THE ONES AROUND ME, AND LEARN EVERYDAY A BIT MORE OF WHAT I TEACH. Namaste "
FIGHT & YOGA
I am passionate about the fight world and involved since early 90's, when used to train and work with master Fabio Gurgel(Alliance Jiu-Jitsu).
Since 2007 I have been teaching Sanatura Yoga to Fight Sports Team Miami, from Master Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu, where I've had the opportunity to interact and improve the style with professional fighters. Some knowledge in Ginastica Natural (from years ago when used to practice with Alvaro Romano), also influenced Sanatura style to help fighters. Sanatura Yoga practice improves range of motion and focus, prevent injuries, and provide relaxing after hard sessions. From this style, a range of opportunities was open, and I started to teach Yoga to other athletes too, as surfers, kite surfers, triathletes, and even lifeguards and fire fighters.
My healing experiences were developed since when I was a teenager while living in my home country (Brazil). Studies in Xamanism, Chromoteraphy, Aromatherapy and Reflexology have a strong influence in my classes, as well as my Certifications in Magnified Healing (Master) and Reiki Level II. I am addicted to workshops about Healing techniques and Healthy nutrition, and lost the count on how many I've participated. I also do Energy Healing therapy to promote relaxation, relief from pain, release of stress/tension, and a delightful sense of well-being, and strongly advice every-body to have at least one session per week!
And as I couldn't forget, I am an animal lover, and must be always connected with the nature to get inspiration and develop environmental and/or social projects to facilitate positive change and help others. Let me know if you want to join me for that too!
